You Will Provide (my Mexico song)

I wrote the following song last summer on the plane ride back from visiting Reynosa, Mexico. Considering this annual trip means so much to me, I think this is the best song I've ever written. I'll try to make a recording and post it soon.

You Will Provide

           D                                             A

As we look upon a people in such obvious need,

                   G                                           D

may we find peace in knowing You are God

 D                                                               A

As we walk through roads of dirt and see the effects of our greed,

   G                                             D

remind us that You are all we need

A                  G             A                       G                                   D

You have a reason, You have a plan. Who are we to understand?

But this one thing we know…

D                   G

You will provide

   A                                                          D

For the birds of the air, the flowers of land, You will provide

Bm7                                                       G

Endless supply in the palm of Your hand

A                                                        D

We will trust in You, for You will provide

D                                               A

As we look upon a nation, so broken and flawed

G                            D

You must be the answer, You are God

D                                                       A

As we look upon a life, marked by death on a cross

G                           D

Let Your Son bring us hope for You are God

D                   G      A                   D     Bm                   G     A                   D

You will provide. You will provide. You will provide. You will provide.

For the poor of the world, for the rich in Your mercy

For the weak of spirit, for the strong in Your word

For the tired and worn, for the ready and willing

For the hungry and nude, may You fill them with hope
